Tips

The Asian people, as a whole, have always been associated with good health, longevity, and having quiet hearts. In this article, I would to share some of the Asian ways of living which will benefit your health in mind, body, and spirit.  Enjoy!

~Meditate. A calm mind = calm emotions = calm organs/body = HEALTH on all levels

~Eat only as much as you need…and you do not need much. Your stomach is the size of your fist and it would be most ideal to fill 50% of this space with solid food, 25 % with liquid, and the remaining 25% left empty so that there is room for movement during digestion.

~Do nothing else while eating. Don’t strain your system by forcing it to do other things when it is already expending lots of energy digesting.

~Resolve any conflicts/disagreements of that day before going to sleep. A heart at peace = a person at peace.

~Keep drinks on the warmer side or room temperature, at the very least.  We rely on good circulation to stay healthy.  Rivers freeze in the winter because cold slows down the flow…

~Balance rest and activity.  Go to sleep at a reasonable time and do not burn your candle on both ends.  You only have one candle!

~Do not take things personally.  You simply happened to be the person close-by at the time.  It wasn’t really directed at you.  The person was desperately trying to feel better and you were conveniently close to dump on.

~Have a bad memory.  The past is simply a thought.  Do not let a thought get the better of you.

~Forgive.  The one action that instantly clears, heals, and rejuvenates.  3-in-1!  What a great deal!  “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of harming another; you end up getting burned.”

~Be kind to yourself.

~Age is nothing but a number.

~Lastly, MEDITATE. Life is an inside job. You have no control of life outside of you and have every control of everything inside of you. Master yourself first, not others.
